FURTHER is inviting applications for scholarships from current and newly-admitted students in any recognised university in Pakistan. Ten scholarships are available for the academic year 2011-2012 ranging from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000 per month based on a combination of need and merit. Award recipients shall receive payments on the 1st day of each month starting in October 2011 and ending in September 2012 provided they remain enrolled in the same university. Recipients are required to maintain a GPA above 3.00 or equivalent, and to volunteer for 15 days of community service per academic year. Awards shall be announced in the 3rd week of September and disbursed on 28 September 2011. Community service schedule will be announced in October and shall include activities such as:
- Cleaning up sections of Margalla Hills
- Educating communities on the benefits of cleanliness
- Assisting residents to organise rubbish removal
- Several other initiatives in health and education
